There's an ad running on TV these days for some kind of popular medication that asks the viewer the question, "What heals you?" One person answers "a night out with the girls" while another person says "Reading a good book." What heals me? My answer right now: time to step back, think, re-assess and plan. It takes discipline to be able to fit these crucial steps into a busy minute-by-minute, day-by-day work week. But vacations, time away doing something totally unrelated to the job, can sometimes yield the most creative thinking imaginable and can set the course for new and original ventures. As spring gives way to summer and we take the well-deserved breaks that we've earned, my hope for everyone is that we stop thinking so hard and start thinking better. Heal yourself with exercise, family reunions, good food, sight-seeing or whatever it takes to relax. But above all, heal yourself by taking a break from the day-to-day; get some perspective and in doing so, the ability to move into the next phase with renewed vigor and a robust plan for the future. Enjoy! Becky Dembo
